Jon Klassen is the creator of the #1 New York Times bestseller I Want My Hat Back, which was named a Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor Book, a New York Times Book Review Best Illustrated Children's Book of the Year, a Publishers Weekly Best Children's Book of the Year, and most recently won the E.B. White Read-Aloud Book Award. He is the illustrator of House Held Up by Trees, a picture book written by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Ted Kooser (published by Candlewick Press), as well as Cats' Night Out by Caroline Stutson, which won the Governor General's Award; Extra Yarn by Mac Barnett; and The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place series by Maryrose Wood.

Back by popular demand! David A. Aguilar - Author, Astronomer, Artist and Director of Public Affairs and Science Information at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. He had us on the edge of our seats during his last visit, ready to suit up and blast off. David A. Aguilar is a nationally recognized author of space-themed non-fiction for elementary school students. Aguilar’s work has been featured on CNN, USA Today, National Geographic, Time Magazine and the History Channel’s series, The Universe. Our 3rd -5th graders will meet the author and hear him talk about outer space and the wonderment of science. They will be in awe!

On November 4, 2011, Author Jonathan Auxier made a stop at our school during his nationwide tour for the release of his new book Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes.

David Aguilar, author of Planets, Stars, and Galaxies, is the Director of Science Information at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Previously, he was the Director of the Fiske Planetarium and Science Center at the University of Colorado. He is an accomplished astronomy illustrator and an experienced educator with an enormous enthusiasm for bringing science to children.
2nd-4th Graders had the opportunity to attend David Aguilar’s presentation of his latest book, Super Stars: The Biggest, Hottest, Brightest and Most Explosive Stars in the Milky Way.
